Air-gap habits that survive a busy week
Perfect isolation is easy to describe and hard to live with. Our cohorts in Korea often share compact apartments and laptops that moonlight as entertainment hubs. The goal is a boundary you will still respect on a tired Thursday.
Give the signing device a boring job description
Write one sentence: “This machine only verifies addresses and signs transactions.” If a request does not fit the sentence, it belongs elsewhere.
Separate cables as ritual
Keep the USB cable for the hardware wallet in a pouch that never travels with your phone charger. The slight inconvenience is the reminder.
Schedule signing windows
Batch non-urgent signatures into a weekly window. Fewer ad-hoc sessions mean fewer “just this once” exceptions on public Wi-Fi.
Accept good-enough rooms
You do not need a shielded chamber. You need a clear desk, notifications off, and no screen sharing tools running. Our workflow page spells out the sequence.
